The fine print, in plain words

Warranty

Around here the rule is simple: if it’s not Billt right, it doesn’t ship. And if something we built ever fails you because of how it was made, we stand behind it. That’s the whole promise.

Our lifetime structural warranty

Every piece is warranted for its lifetime against defects in materials and workmanship. If a joint that should hold comes loose, or the wood or construction fails under normal home use, we’ll repair it, or replace it if it can’t be repaired. Solid hardwood is meant to be renewed, not thrown away — that’s exactly why we can make a promise this long.

What’s covered

  • Joinery and structural failure under ordinary household use.
  • Defects in the hardwood or the way the piece was built.
  • Workmanship faults in the finish as it was applied.

What’s normal — and not covered

Real wood is a living material, and some things are the piece behaving exactly as it should:

  • Wood movement — slight expanding and contracting with the seasons is the wood being honest, not a defect.
  • Normal wear — the dents, patina, and softening a well-loved piece earns over the years.
  • Humidity and heat damage — cracks or warping from a very dry room, direct heat vents, or standing water. A steady room (about 35–45% humidity) keeps this from ever coming up.
  • Damage from accidents, misuse, or alterations after delivery.

How to make a claim

Write to Molly with your order details, a note on what happened, and a photo or two. She’ll bring it to Dad, and we’ll come back to you with a plan to set it right. No runaround — a real family reads every message.
